Custom Pool Builders in Cave Creek Since 2004
Let's Make Your Dream Pool Come to Life
Concrete pools and spas built for Cave Creek, where the ground is granite, the saguaros are protected and the town takes its night sky seriously. Family owned, owner run, building here since 2004.

Turning Dream Pools into Reality. One Pool at a Time.
We begin with the land in front of us, not a shape we already like. Cave Creek lots rarely come flat and rarely come without something on them worth keeping, whether that is a stand of mature saguaro, a rock outcrop or a wash crossing a corner. The design job here is fitting a pool to the desert rather than clearing the desert to fit a pool. Every build starts with a proper site visit.
Ready to talk it through? Start with a Cave Creek pool builder who already holds the town license and knows the lighting rules.
Meet Nate Green, Founder of Saturn Pool Company
Nate and his family have called the Valley home since 2003, and he has been building pools since 2004. Cave Creek has always been among his favorite ground to work, partly because the town holds a line on what gets built here and partly because a pool set properly into desert like this looks better than anything you could put on a flat lot. Twenty years on he runs it the same way. Build it properly, price it honestly, answer your own phone.
It is why most of our Cave Creek work arrives by referral. This is a small town and reputations travel quickly, and a pool that still looks right after ten summers argues better than anything we could write. Prepare to be excited.

What can Saturn Pools do for you?
Four things, done properly, for Cave Creek homeowners. Design leads, construction follows, and out here the town's rules shape both more than most people expect.
Custom Pool Design Services
Every Saturn pool begins as a conversation about your land rather than a page from a catalogue. In Cave Creek that conversation starts with what cannot move. Saguaros in the protected zones of a residential lot stay where they are, washes and slopes dictate where excavation is sensible, and any lighting around the pool has to be fully shielded and cast downward. Those are not obstacles once you design with them in mind. They are the reason a Cave Creek backyard looks like Cave Creek.
New Pool Construction
We build concrete, in-ground pools, the most durable shell available in desert ground. A poured shell copes with ground movement and heat swings in a way a prefabricated one cannot, and it leaves you free on shape, depth and size. Most builds run 8 to 12 weeks depending on scope, permits, inspections and weather. Pools, spas and barriers are permitted through Cave Creek Town Hall on Cave Creek Road, and the town will not issue a permit to a contractor without a current Town of Cave Creek business license. We hold ours, so that is one delay you will not have.
New Spa Construction
A spa can be lifted into the pool as a spillover feature or built on its own as a standalone retreat. Either route, it is drawn and poured within the same project, so tile, finish and decking read as one piece rather than an afterthought bolted on a year later. Cave Creek sits above 2,500 feet, high enough that winter nights get genuinely cold and the stars are worth sitting out under. A properly sized spa is what makes that a nightly habit instead of an occasional one.
Pool Features and Add-ons
This is where a pool stops being a rectangle of water. Water features, fire, shade and decking all change how often the yard gets used. Lighting needs more care here than anywhere else we build, because Cave Creek requires outdoor fixtures to be fully shielded and aimed down, caps wall mounted fixtures at ten feet, and does not permit clear glass fixtures unless the glass is frosted. Done properly that gives you a beautifully lit pool and a sky you can still see.

Schedule Your Free ConsultationA family business that never outgrew the family part.
Saturn Pools is family owned, and Cave Creek has been on our map since we started in 2004. Very little about how we operate has changed. The owner is on every job, a single call reaches design and sales together, and no question needs relaying through a department to get answered.
A pool is a serious long term investment and a Cave Creek build gets treated that way. We stay alongside you from the opening design conversation through to the final walkthrough, and we remain easy to reach long after the water goes in. Plenty of our customers date back to the early years, and their referrals still bring in most of what we build.

Steel, plumbing and gunite go underground the day after they are inspected. Nobody photographs that stage. It is also the part that decides whether your pool still looks right a decade from now. Cave Creek is hard ground in the literal sense. Granite and rock shelf run close to the surface across much of the town, slopes need retaining and erosion control, and washes have to keep working after you build. Shortcuts taken below grade always surface later.
Quality over volume
Some builders take one look at a Cave Creek hillside lot and quote it like a subdivision job. We take on only the work we can supervise properly, and we price rock and slope after seeing them rather than before.
One call, one owner
One number reaches both sales and design. With town review, lighting compliance and a rock excavation to plan, that saves a great deal of chasing.
Premium materials
Premium materials and proven methods, with the detail work checked before gunite covers it. Rock ground and cold winter nights are both hard on a shell that was rushed.
A warranty that holds
The pool and its equipment carry a warranty, walked through with you and backed by each manufacturer. We are still reachable once the water is in.
Twelve communities. One crew.
We build across the Valley with one crew, and Cave Creek is a straight run up Cave Creek Road. We work lots below Black Mountain, out toward Spur Cross and the Regional Park, and along the desert edges where the town meets open land. Choose your city below to see the local build details that apply there.
You do not have to be ready to build. You just have to be ready to talk.
Three ways in, depending on how far along you already are. Every one of them is free.
Why Cave Creek homeowners keep passing our number along.
Most of our work arrives by word of mouth, one Cave Creek backyard at a time. Referrals only happen when the build went well and the builder is still around afterward to take the call.
Two decades of building here
We have built here since 2004, across twenty summers and twenty monsoon seasons. Hundreds of customers on, the same people still handle design and construction.
Quality before volume
We would rather build fewer pools properly than spread crews across a packed calendar. Rock excavation and a hillside layout both go wrong when a job is hurried.
Answers, not a runaround
One call reaches both sales and design. We answer questions as they arise, and we cover what matters in this town, from which fixtures pass the lighting rules to which saguaros on your lot are staying put.
We do not disappear
The relationship does not end when the water goes in. If something needs attention two years down the line, the same team is still here to handle it.

If Anthem Pets referred you to Saturn Pools, and we build your pool, we’ll donate $100 to AP! And even if you don’t choose us, would you please consider a donation to a great organization that helps to care for our pet family?
FAQ for Cave Creek Residents
These are the questions Cave Creek owners ask us most. The town has its own rules on lighting, saguaros and contractor licensing, so several of these answers are specific to this address and nowhere else.
Price comes down to interior and decking materials, the equipment package, and features such as waterfalls, lighting and firepits. Cave Creek adds its own variables. Rock excavation is the big one, since granite and rock shelf sit close to the surface across much of the town and a dig that would be routine elsewhere can take days longer here. Sloping lots may need retaining and erosion control alongside the pool. Neither is a reason to avoid building. Both are reasons to have someone stand on the ground before quoting.
A real figure needs a real look at the property. We walk the lot, assess the rock and the fall of the ground, note what has to stay, then come back with pricing built around your land instead of an average.
Pool projects typically take 8 to 12 weeks once construction begins. Scheduling, scope, permits, inspections, material availability and weather all move that. In Cave Creek the two things most likely to stretch a schedule are rock, which we assess before quoting, and a permit application from a contractor who has not kept their town business license current. Lots needing hillside or wash engineering add design time at the front rather than build time at the back.
Not necessarily, and this trips up more people than anything else on this page. The 85331 postal area does not match the town boundary. A property with a Cave Creek mailing address can actually sit in the Town of Cave Creek, the Town of Carefree, the City of Phoenix, the City of Scottsdale or unincorporated Maricopa County, and each one permits differently. Your mail says nothing about who reviews your pool plans. We check the parcel against the town zoning map before anything is drawn, because filing with the wrong authority wastes weeks.
If your parcel is inside the town, the pool, spa and barrier permit comes from Cave Creek Town Hall on Cave Creek Road. The application checks the contractor's Registrar of Contractors number and classification, a current Arizona state tax number, and a Town of Cave Creek business license. That last one matters more than it sounds, because the town will not issue the permit until the contractor holds it. A builder from down the Valley taking on a one off job here can lose weeks to that alone. Septic permits come from Maricopa County Environmental Services and well permits from the Arizona Department of Water Resources.
Almost certainly not, and Cave Creek is stricter here than its neighbors. Within the protected zones of a residential lot the town does not allow a saguaro to be removed or relocated at all, with only narrow exceptions such as a plant that is already dead or dying. Elsewhere in the Valley the usual answer is salvage and replant. Here the answer is that the saguaro stays and the pool moves. We map the protected plants at the design stage and shape the layout around them, which honestly tends to produce a better looking backyard anyway.
Yes, and it is one of the oldest rules in the town's zoning ordinance. Outdoor lighting has to be fully shielded and cast downward so the bulb itself is not visible from an adjacent street or property. Clear glass fixtures are not permitted unless the glass is frosted to hide the bulb, wall mounted fixtures cannot sit above ten feet, and security lighting has to be motion activated, fully shielded and pointed down. The practical test the town uses is simple: if you can see the bulb through the cover in daylight, it will not pass at night. We specify deck and landscape lighting that complies from the start.
Often, depending where you are. Plenty of Cave Creek properties run on a private well and a septic system rather than town utilities, and both change the plan. Nothing can be built over a septic tank, its leach field or the reserve area, and filling a pool from a domestic well is hard on the pump, so most owners bring the fill in by truck instead. Backwash and drain water must stay well clear of the leach field. We locate all of it before design rather than discovering it with an excavator.
