Turning Dream Pools into Reality. One Pool at a Time.
We begin with the land in front of us, not a shape we already like. In Wickenburg the first thing worth knowing is where your property sits in relation to the floodway and the floodplain. A lot near Sol's Wash and a lot up on higher ground are different projects with different paperwork, whatever the yards look like on a dry day. We establish that before drawing anything.
Ready to talk it through? Start with a Wickenburg pool builder who checks the floodplain map before the tape measure comes out.
Meet Nate Green, Founder of Saturn Pool Company
Nate and his family have called the Valley home since 2003, and he has been building pools since 2004. Wickenburg sits far enough out that most Valley builders never come this way, which is precisely why the ones who do need to know the ground. Twenty years on he runs it the same way. Build it properly, price it honestly, answer your own phone.
It is why most of our Wickenburg work arrives by referral. A town of this size runs on reputation, and a build that still looks right after ten summers argues better than anything we could write. Prepare to be excited.

What can Saturn Pools do for you?
Four things, done properly, for Wickenburg homeowners. Design leads, construction follows, and here the drainage plan is the document that decides whether either happens on schedule.
Custom Pool Design Services
Every Saturn pool begins as a conversation about your land rather than a page from a catalogue. In Wickenburg the town wants to see how water moves across your property before and after you build, so the design has to account for the washes and the fall of the ground from the outset. That is not a hurdle so much as a discipline. A pool laid out with the drainage in mind is a pool that still works after a hard monsoon rather than one that collects everything the storm brings down.
New Pool Construction
We build concrete, in-ground pools, the most durable shell available in desert ground. A poured shell copes with ground movement and heat swings in a way a prefabricated one cannot, and it leaves you free on shape, depth and size. Most builds run 8 to 12 weeks depending on scope, permits, inspections and weather. Permits come through the Town of Wickenburg Community Development Department on Tegner Street, and the submittal is more detailed than most, with topographic contours, cut and fill quantities and drainage plans for before and after the work.
New Spa Construction
A spa can be lifted into the pool as a spillover feature or built on its own as a standalone retreat. Either route, it is drawn and poured within the same project, so tile, finish and decking read as one piece rather than an afterthought bolted on a year later. Wickenburg sits above 2,200 feet and the winter nights are properly cold by Arizona standards, so a spa here does more work through the year than a pool alone ever will.
Pool Features and Add-ons
This is where a pool stops being a rectangle of water. Water features, fire, lighting, shade and decking all change how often the yard gets used. Given the season here, heating and fire features earn their place more than they would further south, and the views toward the Vulture Mountains are worth designing around rather than fencing off. We explain what each option costs to build and to run, then build the ones that earn their keep.

Schedule Your Free ConsultationA family business that never outgrew the family part.
Saturn Pools is family owned, and Wickenburg has been on our map since we started in 2004. Very little about how we operate has changed. The owner is on every job, a single call reaches design and sales together, and no question needs relaying through a department to get answered.
A pool is a serious long term investment and a Wickenburg build gets treated that way. We stay alongside you from the opening design conversation through to the final walkthrough, and we remain easy to reach long after the water goes in. Plenty of our customers date back to the early years, and their referrals still bring in most of what we build.

Steel, plumbing and gunite go underground the day after they are inspected. Nobody photographs that stage. It is also the part that decides whether your pool still looks right a decade from now. Wickenburg tests that harder than most places. This is a town built among washes, so what your yard does in a storm matters as much as what the shell is made of, and a deck poured to the wrong levels will find that out the first time the Hassayampa runs. Shortcuts taken below grade always surface later.
Quality over volume
Most Valley builders will not drive out this far, and the ones who make the trip occasionally treat it as a one off. We take on only the work we can supervise properly, and we come back when something needs looking at.
One call, one owner
One number reaches both sales and design. With a drainage submittal and possibly a flood control district involved, that saves a great deal of chasing.
Premium materials
Premium materials and proven methods, with the detail work checked before gunite covers it. Ground that takes storm flow is unforgiving of a shell or a deck that was rushed.
A warranty that holds
The pool and its equipment carry a warranty, walked through with you and backed by each manufacturer. We are still reachable once the water is in.
Twelve communities. One crew.
We build across the Valley with one crew, and Wickenburg is the far end of our run out along the US 60. We work properties around the historic downtown and Frontier Street, out along the Hassayampa and up on the higher ground toward the Vulture Mountains. Choose your city below to see the local build details that apply there.
You do not have to be ready to build. You just have to be ready to talk.
Three ways in, depending on how far along you already are. Every one of them is free.
Why Wickenburg homeowners keep passing our number along.
Most of our work arrives by word of mouth, one Wickenburg backyard at a time. Referrals only happen when the build went well and the builder is still around afterward to take the call.
Two decades of building here
We have built here since 2004, across twenty summers and twenty monsoon seasons. Hundreds of customers on, the same people still handle design and construction.
Quality before volume
We would rather build fewer pools properly than spread crews across a packed calendar. A drainage sensitive site is not somewhere to be cutting corners on time.
Answers, not a runaround
One call reaches both sales and design. We answer questions as they arise, and we work through the local realities early, starting with whether your parcel sits in a mapped flood hazard area.
We do not disappear
The relationship does not end when the water goes in. If something needs attention two years down the line, the same team is still here to handle it.

If Anthem Pets referred you to Saturn Pools, and we build your pool, we’ll donate $100 to AP! And even if you don’t choose us, would you please consider a donation to a great organization that helps to care for our pet family?
FAQ for Wickenburg Residents
These are the questions Wickenburg owners ask us most. A town built among washes and split across two counties raises issues that do not come up elsewhere, so several of these answers are specific to building here.
Price comes down to interior and decking materials, the equipment package, and features such as waterfalls, lighting and firepits. Wickenburg adds two considerations. The submittal here is more detailed than in most towns, which means more design work up front. And if your property sits in a mapped flood hazard area, the grading and drainage work needed to satisfy the review can be a genuine line item rather than a formality. Both are far cheaper to handle at the drawing stage than after a rejection.
A real figure needs a real look at the property. We walk the lot, check where it falls relative to the washes, look at the access and the ground, then come back with pricing built around your parcel instead of an average.
Pool projects typically take 8 to 12 weeks once construction begins. Scheduling, scope, permits, inspections, material availability and weather all move that. The front end usually takes longer here than in the Valley, because the town wants topographic contours and drainage plans for both before and after the work rather than a simple plot plan. We would rather spend that time properly than submit something thin and have it come back.
Very likely, and it is the first thing we check. Wickenburg was built around the Hassayampa River and Sol's Wash along with a network of tributaries, and the town's floodplain rules sit in Chapter 15 of the town code. The distinction that matters is between the floodway, which is the channel itself plus the land needed to carry a hundred year flood, and the floodplain around it. Building in or near a floodway is far more constrained than building on the edge of a floodplain. Plenty of pools get built in Wickenburg without difficulty. The point is knowing which category your parcel falls into before you design anything.
The Town of Wickenburg Community Development Department on North Tegner Street handles building permits. What differs here is the grading and drainage requirement. Submittals want a general information sheet noting floodplain status, topographic information at two foot contours, property lines and the excavation location with the amount of cut and fill proposed, plus a pre grading plan showing how drainage runs across the property and the surrounding area, and a post grading plan showing how it will run afterward and what that does to neighboring land. We prepare all of it and manage the review.
Wickenburg is unusual in sitting across two of them. The town spans Maricopa and Yavapai counties, and the floodplain administrator is the relevant county flood control district rather than the town itself, so which one reviews your drainage depends on where your parcel actually falls. Building permits still come from the town either way. It sounds like a technicality until a submittal goes to the wrong desk, which is the sort of delay that turns a spring build into a summer one. We confirm the county before filing.
That is exactly why the rules exist, and it is worth taking seriously. The Hassayampa runs underground for most of its length, which is where the name comes from, and the washes around town sit dry the vast majority of the year. Then a storm lands upstream and they carry a great deal of water very quickly. A pool deck, a raised spa and an equipment pad all displace water and change how a yard drains, so the plans have to show that storm flow still leaves your property properly and does not get pushed onto the neighbor. Designed properly it is a non issue.
Shorter than the Valley, and worth planning for rather than discovering. At roughly 2,200 feet Wickenburg runs noticeably cooler than Phoenix, particularly overnight in spring and autumn, so an unheated pool has a meaningfully shorter comfortable season here. That is an argument for sizing the heating properly at the design stage and for putting a spa in alongside the pool rather than promising yourself one later. Done at the outset it costs far less than retrofitting, and it is the difference between a pool you use for four months and one you use for eight.
