As Phoenix has gotten a taste of colder weather recently, nature is reminding us that our time of enjoying a warm pool is slowly coming to an end. If you haven’t already closed your pool for the winter, your usage has likely decreased anyway. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the outdoors! Not only is it a great time to get out and enjoy your favorite outdoor activities like hiking or biking, but it’s also time for another backyard feature to shine—the hot tub. Today, we’ve assembled a list of the best accessories to help you get the most out of your spa these next few months.

Maintenance Reducers

One key, of course, to enjoying your hot tub more is to focus less on maintenance and more on relaxing. Thankfully, a few clever products have been created to help you do just that. Step one to any pool maintenance is consistency, but even if you have that down, you can still up your game by adding these tools to your toolbelt.

First up is a filter cleaner. This time-saving water hose attachment is made to make your filter last longer and work better. By redirecting your water flow into six water jets, it more effectively cleans between the pleats of your filter, minimizing damage to your filter and maximizing dirt removal.

Another maintenance product that might be useful to you is the Sun Sorb. This sponge-like device floats on the top of your spa and (as the name implies) absorbs body oils and lotions left behind by swimmers. By removing this waste from your water, it reduces any foaming or scum lines that you may usually experience. And to top it all off, the Sun Sorb is reusable. When it begins to appear dirty, just clean and reuse.

Fun Enhancers

Now for the good stuff! Once you have a nice clean hot tub to enjoy, what do you do in it? Maybe play some cards? If you’re into card games, many of the popular ones like Uno offer waterproof versions. Or, you can just pick up a regular waterproof deck and play whatever classic games you like. Of course, you’ll need a surface to play on, but that’s easy enough to find as well, many of which have space for snacks and drinks too.

Another product worth considering is a floating thermometer. OK, admittedly they are the most fun thing to think about, but they do help you avoid something very not fun—getting into a cold spa! And, many of them allow you to add a little bit of personality to your hot tub with toppers of all kinds, like a flamingo or this “cool” alligator.

At the end of the day, the main thing you need to enjoy yourself is a nice warm hot tub is to actually own a hot tub. If you don’t already have the pool of your dreams with an attached spa to enjoy this time of year, now is the best time to build one. If fact, you can start the process today by scheduling a free, in-home estimate in only a few clicks. We love helping our clients bring their ideas to life, and we’d be thrilled to be able to do the same for you.
