If you have a smartphone, there’s a good chance you’ve come across the game Fruit Ninja at some point. If you haven’t, it’s a pretty simple game where you slice fruit to earn points. It sounds harmless enough—that is until children try bringing this idea into the real world. Add an aboveground pool in the mix, and apparently, you’ve got a viral video on your hands.

The tweet where the video originated now boasts over 40,000 likes and 10,000 retweets. In this 20 second video, we see a boy setting an apple atop a makeshift stand and preparing to slice it in half with a samurai sword. Unfortunately for the boy, he chooses to do so directly next to his family’s inflatable pool and well . . . you can guess what happens next. Don’t worry, no one gets hurt in the video, but if you needed another reason not to buy an aboveground pool, here’s one.

If nothing else, this odd imagery marks the winding down of summer. Fall is quickly approaching, and if you’re in the market for a new pool, it also happens to be one of the best times to start a new build. Instead of making the mistake of buying an aboveground pool, talk to us about building a long-lasting, in-ground swimming pool and spa. You can get started by contacting us today for a free, in-home estimate!
